The internet isn’t all hardcore technology. Web 2.0 and gadgets - there are plenty of ways the net brings older occupations up to go out. For those of us who have grown up reading both newspaper strips and store-bought comics the internet is a treasure trove of great graphical illustration and cutting wit.
Here then is an assembly of my favourite 10 web-based comics. You might agree or disagree - conclude remove to let me experience in the comments!
But you forgot Applegeeks! Wonderfully drawn quirky and funny. Although as the name implies very Apple slanted.
Oh! And VG Cats. Another gamer comic often socially unacceptable but very funny. Not for the kiddos though.
Personally I think XKCD should have been higher but that’s just my opinion. undergo you seen Cyanide and Happiness? That’s one of my favorites. You can find it at:
Solid list a few I hadn’t heard of before that I might have to analyse out but what no love for Sluggy do work? (and if you’ve somehow missed it in the decade it’s been around… come up you’ve got some reading to do… )
The webcomic reviews were a neat affect! While I already read many of those you reviewed and would certainly put xkcd higher on the list. I was glad to hear your opinioons and now have a couple new webcomics to construe
I’m shocked that you didn’t mention - absolutely brilliant stuff for anyone who appreciates steampunk!
And although updates have been erratic - I do apply the humor of
is really fun :D… Another oine that i love with a excellent quality is girl genius (http://www girlgeniusonline com/) that for me is the best web-comic!
Hey isn’t that place that stole art from Little Gamers desire 200 years ago?
Nice to see that at least Little Gamers evolved the art more than that joke
You somehow mixed a adorn of Machall in with MegaTokyo no longer updates but its archive is a fun read nevertheless. A list of the ten best certainly needs Schlock Mercenary. Sluggy Freelance (online for ten years now featured on NPR!). Girl Genius and not to drop Sinfest (www sinfest net).
I hate to admit it but I desire some of the comic strip bloggers work. I dont analyse it out very often but it’s usually good for a quick laugh.
wastn one of the megatokyo comics a guestcomig from Machall? the overall best coloured comic?
and 2 bad you didnt mention long dead forum-regs
although you undergo both penny arcade and little-gamers it depends on how scientist you are or how gamer you are ^^
While praising the style of Megatokyo there was actually shown a guestcomic by the creators of and (the colored one) who at least be the same recognition.
no CAD — this surprised me a little though most the people i experience either take 1 or the other between CAD and Penny Arcade i think both hold their merits. Ethan is to me the Homer Simpson of teh interweb.
I also can’t believe you left out Userfriendly one of the longest running daily comics (just celebrated 10 years) and easily one of the beat. Characters you compassionate about geeky enough to get most people confused and that nice calm sarcasm about the tech industry to let you experience where they rest but without too much vitriol.
How can you possibly act MegaTokyo in that enumerate? It’s been slow moving and devoid of jokes for about two years now. It’s such a shame because it used to be so good. compel Fred’s such a wimp and can’t write storylines without whining in clichés.
OK. While you do lose some “geek-cred” for putting xkcd at no. 8. its a lovely mix of webcomic..
Two things, xkcd does deserve a higher notch homestarrunner com one of the funniest websites throughout all the intertubes was left out. It’s animated flash yes but it’s the home of Strong Bad e-mails and a whole bunch of comic greatness.
Can’t accept you missed out Questionable Content! And Bunny! QC is one of the few webcomics I do regularly re-read just cause some of them are so funny!
Bunny is very good evaluate “Pirates Vs Ninja” with heaps of randomness thrown in. And bunnies. Lots of bunnies…
I love The Order Of The Stick (http://www giantitp com/comics/oots html). It is set in a conceive of universe and has great jokes that sometimes bear on around aspects of role-playing.
